Q. What's the easiest way to create a record for a single journal article in RefWorks?

If you think the article is indexed by MEDLINE/PubMed, the easiest way to import the record is to search PubMed from within RefWorks.

Use the Refworks "Search" menu to select "Online Catalog or Database."

If the article has a distinctive title, enter the title alone in the "Quick Search" box.  If the title may not be unique you may want to include one or more of the authors' names as shown below

Vitamin D supplementation during Antarctic winter AND smith AND locke

Click the search button

From the search results, select the relevant record (red arrow in figure below) and use the "import to folder" or "import" buttons (green arrows in figure below) to put the record into your RefWorks account.

A screenshot shows the "Online Catalog or Database" box with selected search results and points out the position of the "import to Folder" drop-down and the "Import" button.
