Q. How can I share references in one of my RefWorks folders?

Answer

You can share your RefWorks citations through RefShare. The references must first be in a folder.  After placing the references in a folder, either:

1.  a) Right click on the folder name in the list of folders in the right-hand column, b) Select "Sharing" from the menu that appears and  slide over to click on "Share folder"

, c) click the "Share" button on the pop-up that appears,

d) copy the web address that appears in the new pop-up,

and e) paste the web address into an e-mail  message and send the message to the friend/colleague/instructor with who you wish to share your references.  You may want to attach the instructions for importing from a shared folder.  The file containing these instructions is attached to this FAQ.

2.  a) Click on the Organize & Share Folders tab.

b) After the "Organize & Share Folders" screen appears, click on the folder with the green arrow that is in the same row as the folder you want to share.

c) A window will pop up with a URL that you can copy, paste, and email to your colleagues. If you wish, you can also set limitations on what they can do with your citations.

 

d. When you send out your RefShare address, you may want to attach the instructions for importing from a shared folder.  The file containing these instructions is attached to this FAQ.
