Q. I'm a Write-n-Cite III user. My computer is being upgraded. I would like to have access to WNC 4 as well as WNC III.

Answer

You can have both WNC III and WNC 4 installed and can use both on a single document -- going back and forth as you wish.  Just be sure that you only use a single Refworks account when inserting citations in a specific Word document.

If you have not logged into WNC 4 and you open a Word document, you will be asked whether you want to login.  If you don't want to use WNC 4, just click cancel.

If you are logged into WNC 4, and open a WNC III document, you will be asked if you want to convert the document to the current version of WNC.  If you wish to use WNC III rather than WNC 4, you can either click "Review Only" or click "Convert."

You can work with WNC III after either action.

To use WNC III, use the "Add-ins" ribbon (see figure below).  To use WNC 4, click on the "RefWorks" ribbon.
