There are a few reasons why you may be asked for a password by a journal's website:

  1. If you are accessing the article or journal from a database (PubMed, Scopus, Embase, etc.), make sure to click on the red GetIt@UNMC button. This will check if it's available from the library.
  2. The library may not subscribe to the journal. Search the library catalog to check our holdings (linked below). If the library does not have it listed or does not have the correct date range, you may order the article through interlibrary loan.
  3. If the journal is included in the library's list of online journals (be sure to also check the coverage dates), there might be an issue with the publisher.
